Haptic design and prototyping for academia and industry

The 1st Eurohaptics Summer School will be held in Siena from July 10th to 12th, 2026, right after the end of Eurohaptics 2026.

It will focus on hands-on techniques and skills that are needed for running haptic research projects in academia and industry. The school aims to provide knowledge encompassing the ideation at the start of any project, prototyping methods to build experiments and devices, evaluation paradigms, and analysis methods. Keynotes, courses, and workshops will focus on specific topics of the project progress chain in both academic and industrial contexts. The school will encourage the application of the knowledge through participation in teams in a hackathon, as well as networking during social events. A dedicated session will be held to present and discuss your research with the other participants.
The program will feature a mixture of keynotes from recognized haptic researchers in academia and industry (as well as exchange time with them), tutorials, and networking events.

A certificate for 1.5 ECTS will be delivered upon completion of the summer school program.
