General Information
Workshops come in many forms but aim to encourage deeper exploration in a narrow topic area within the field of haptics. Whether as a forum for leading researchers to discuss their emerging and active research area in a smaller group or, in the spirit of haptics, a hands-on event to build, develop, and prototype with a more diverse research community, we encourage both traditional and more novel workshop concepts.
Workshops are a place for discussion, rather than for a top-down delivery of material. We encourage workshops that are engaging and provide hands-on experiences and discussion, while we discourage workshops that try to resemble a mini-conference (e.g., where every participant presents a position paper). Consider prototyping sessions, demos, and exhibitions. For the final selection of workshops, we will curate our choice based on topics but also different formats and their potential for engagement.
You are encouraged to balance invited and participatory content, and we can support the workshop with a space for posters or demos for increasing interaction between participants. We may also be able to support the introductions to relevant industry partners for hands-on workshops looking to use off-the-shelf technologies.

Submission and Selection Criteria
The page limit is 5 pages (single-column format, same template as full-paper submissions), including references. Submissions are not anonymous.
Workshop papers should be submitted through this link.
We will make decisions based on (i) the topic of the proposed workshop, (ii) the event’s format and likelihood of creating an engaging intellectual environment, and (iii) the inclusiveness of the event to people with different backgrounds and expertise. We aim to curate a workshop day with a broad range of topics, as well as a range of methods used to explore the topics.
The Workshop Chairs and General Chairs choose which workshops will be accepted for the conference through discussion (juried process).
Proposal Preparation
Templates: Authors must use the provided Springer templates without any modifications.
- Microsoft Word: Download Template
- LaTeX: Download Template (also available for Overleaf)
Submitted proposals should include the following information:
- Title. Provide a title for your event.
- Organizers. Provide an affiliation, address, email address, and URL for each organizer. Indicate which organizer will be the primary contact person. All correspondence will be sent to this person, who will be expected to respond promptly.
- [Optional] URL. Please provide a URL to a live website with information about the proposed workshop. The link is optional but highly recommended.
- Abstract. Please provide a short paragraph describing the proposed event. This paragraph will be used to advertise the event on the Eurohaptics 2026 website.
- Workshop length. The length of a workshop can be either Short (half-day, 180 min.) or long (full-day, 2 × 180 min.).
- Content. Describe your event in detail and how you will ensure the highest quality content such that attendees get the most out of the expected exchanges of ideas. The proposed workshop will be evaluated in terms of both its scientific quality and its potential to engage participants with a diversity of thought and background. We encourage you to think outside the box. Please include the following components:
- A brief description of the relevance of the workshop topic and its expected impact, why contributed content will reflect the state of the art, and how the proposed event will expand the originality and diversity of Eurohaptics 2026.
- A description of the format of the workshop (e.g., presentations, panels, interactive activities) and how it will encourage discussion and participation. Keep in mind that the workshop is expected to be run in person, not as a hybrid or virtual event (though invited speakers could join remotely for the talk). Note that the event should ideally provide a venue for young researchers to interact with senior researchers.
- A tentative schedule and, if the workshop includes invited speakers, a list of confirmed speakers and a description of your efforts to include speakers from a diversity of demographics, geographic locations, and career stages.
- Plan to solicit participation. Please describe how you plan to solicit participation in your event if it is accepted. How do you plan to attract researchers with relevant expertise to attend the event? Be specific and please provide a tentative schedule for your workshop as well as the deadlines for invited contributions (e.g., position papers), if any.
- Plan to encourage interaction among participants. Describe what steps you will take to encourage interaction among participants. Workshops promote informal discussion of an active research area. How do you plan to promote active discussion between established experts and early-career researchers beyond invited talks and a poster session? Workshops that have the potential to increase the number and diversity of participants, encourage participants to stay for the full duration of the event, and promote interaction are highly encouraged.
(Optional) Equipment. A computer projector, screen, and poster stands will be provided. Please provide an estimate of how many poster stands, if any, will be needed for the event. List any other required equipment that the Eurohaptics 2026 organizers might be able to provide.
