Hands-on Demonstrations provide an exciting opportunity to experience the latest developments in haptic technology and interactions.

Demonstrations will be displayed during a demo session on one or more of the conference days.

Submission Details

Structure: Each submission must include a short abstract of approximately 100 words, an image describing the demonstration, a mock-up diagram to be used for space planning, and the list of technical requirements (e.g., number of tables, number of electricity plugs, etc.) that the organizers should provide for your demo. Please divide your technical requirements between what is (1) needed and what would be (2) preferred.

Video: Including a hyperlink to a short video clip presenting the demonstration is highly encouraged but not required.

Ethics: Please include an “Ethics Statements” outlining data use, privacy protections, and participant consent procedures for the hands-on demo. If no data will be gathered during the demonstration, please specify it.

Page limit: The page limit is two pages (single-column format, same template as full-paper submissions) including references, plus one page for the diagram/map for space planning.

Important note: The research demos should not have commercial content in focus. Companies wishing to showcase their products should refer to our sponsorship and exhibit options.

Submission and Selection Process

Submission: Demo proposals should be submitted here: https://tally.so/r/xX0gqG.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the author names, affiliations, and paper title are correct and consistent with the information in the submitted PDF.

Selection: The evaluation will be conducted through a juried process, with decisions made solely by the demo chairs and one general chair. 

Copyright

Authors retain the copyright to their submissions. The document itself will not be published; only the title and the names of the authors will be displayed on the website.

Policies and Guidelines
  • Language: All submissions must be in English.
  • Presentation: At least one author of an accepted demo is expected to register for the conference and to be present in person to present their demonstration. 
  • Use of AI-generated Text:
    • The use of AI and large-scale language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, LeChat, or Gemini is only permitted for editing the grammar of the author’s own text. 
    • The use of LLMs for generating text from scratch is banned. Authors will be required to confirm authorized use of AI / LLM tools at time of submission, and the text will be checked for misuse.
