Inclusion

The Eurohaptics Society is dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all of its participants regardless of age, health status, political opinions, physical appearance, economic vulnerability, gender, sexual orientation, disability, name, ethnicity or nationality, place of residence, beliefs, religious affiliations, customs. In addition, the Eurohaptics Society aims to increase the participation of groups traditionally underrepresented in robotics, neurosciences, and haptics research (including but not limited to women, LGBTQ+, underrepresented minorities, and people with disabilities).

Creating a discrimination-free conference requires a community and environment that recognize and respect the inherent value of each individual.

The goal of these days is to freely exchange ideas, present scientific work, and debate scientific topics central to these events, in a spirit of intellectual openness and kindness. Participants in the conference commit to upholding the highest standards of scientific integrity (reliability, honesty, respect, responsibility), responsible behavior towards individuals (politeness, fairness, respect), and towards the environment (keeping places clean, not wasting, not damaging equipment), and ethical and professional conduct.

Participants commit to providing a harassment-free experience during this event, respecting the dignity and rights of each individual and without compromising their professional future. It is also important to keep in mind that obvious or perceived hierarchies in the research environment can make it difficult for newcomers to express discomfort with remarks or behaviors.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, the following overt and/or covert acts:

  • Verbal accusation, threats, personal insults, or bullying
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following both in person and online
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Disclosure or threats of disclosure of information exchanged during private discussions without the agreement of the parties involved, including on social media.
  • Jokes or other discriminatory actions
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  • Interference with a person’s participation or opportunity for participation
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention such as sexual advances
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

We expect all interactions between attendees to be respectful and constructive, including interactions during the review process, at the conference itself, and on social media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference (without a refund) at the discretion of the conference organizers. In case of violation of the Code of Conduct, the concerned persons or witnesses have the possibility to contact the Organizing Committee.
